The Context

The Content

You will find photo-essays and in-depth articles based on exclusive interviews with eco-lodges and farm-stays. I document the realities of how tourism can drive sustainable rural economies and preserve Sri Lanka's biodiversity.

The Mission

This journal serves as a field guide for eco-conscious travellers, sustainable developers, and impact investors. My goal is to bridge the gap between industry trends and reality on the ground through direct interviews and practical insights.

The Origin

With a background in China Studies (BA & MA) and anthropology, I’ve always been fascinated by how different cultures blend and grow. During my time in China, I worked in experiential education, where I saw firsthand how immersive, agricultural experiences can empower both the traveler and the local community.

While my academic roots are in East Asia, my curiosity for understanding how people connect with their land is universal. As Sri Lanka grows as a travel destination, I am deeply motivated to learn how its unique agritourism scene is shaping a sustainable future—and I’m here to document those stories.

Transparency & Independence:

Green Journal Lanka is an entirely self-funded project. To ensure the integrity of my fieldwork, I do not accept complimentary stays or sponsored content. My commitment is to provide an authentic, objective look at the agritourism industry, prioritizing honest insights over promotional narratives.

Let’s Share the Story of Your Land

What we’'ll explore

I am currently connecting with Sri Lankan accommodations that place agriculture and community at their heart. I am especially interested in documenting:

  1. Immersive Learning: How are visitors invited to engage with the land through educational or hands-on agricultural activities?

  2. From Soil to Table: How is the journey of your crops and animals integrated into the guest experience or the local marketplace?

  3. Social Impact: In what ways does your project strengthen the local heritage and economy beyond traditional employment?

As I prepare for the March 2026 launch of Green Lanka, I am seeking fieldwork opportunities to feature authentic, sustainable practices. If you would like to have your story documented, I would love to connect.
